Planes were devised as the main architectural elements defining the project.

Planar surfaces were introduced to provide security and to create a flexible subdivision of spaces, experientially and programmatically. Planes don’t become obstructions. Rather, they become a connective tissue to the house and its community. Privacy is achieved through controlled transparency.

By cutting the roof in half, the longitudinal mass of the house was divided into complementing volumes of program. The more intimate areas such as the Master Bedroom and Den were provided ample privacy from activity-driven spaces. The cut also allowed the creation of a double height living space that provides a permeable venue of interaction.
